GC signs Social Recruitment Covenant

The Growth Company has signed the PeoplePlus Social Recruitment Covenant.

The Social Recruitment Covenant encourages employers to publicly commit to making meaningful commitments of support that can help drive a step change in the way we recruit, retain and develop staff who have been disadvantaged in the labour market.

Social recruitment is about moving those furthest from the job market into sustainable employment. This includes groups like NEET youth, unpaid carers, single parents who struggle with childcare, the long-term unemployed, ex-offenders, and people with disabilities.

By signing the covenant, we have made a commitment to inclusive recruitment, training and employment practices which contribute to greater social mobility and economic prosperity in society.

We work closely with our eight EDI networks to ensure that colleagues from underrepresented communities receive the support they need to develop in their careers. Through this we have seen improvements in our retention and recruitment of colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Our latest workforce EDI data shows that our number of colleagues from diverse ethnic community backgrounds has increased from 16.5% in 2023 to 18% and colleagues with a declared disability has increased from 9.7% in 2023 to 16.8%.
